GRASS, HOUSTON posted by George Ross on Thursday, January 20, 2005

I was trying to find my grandfather's grave in Richmond. My family has always told us that our grandparents were not buried in the same cemetery. I found my grandmother, Lucy Annis GRASS, in the Sunny Slope records. We were told that our grandfather was buried in the back of the cemetery, and I since have been told that it was grown over. My grandfather's name is Joseph Benjamin HOUSTON, was born April 29, 1878 and died May 16, 1939. I would like to find his resting place and would be willing to offer some labor to find it.

SCHOOLING posted by Stevin Oudshoorn on Thursday, January 20, 2005

I am looking for the burial site (and all additional information) of Sgt. Robert E. SCHOOLING. He was from Cowgill, MO. He died as a ball turret gunner on a B17 of the 447th Bomb Group on January 11, 1944. I am researching the air battle on this day and have to some degree been able to piece together the story of this bomber and its crew. I have also been able to find all surviving members of this crew (two has recently passed away). The second member of this crew that died that day, Sgt John L. Roth is buried at the American Cemetery Margraten, The Netherlands. I myself live in The Netherlands. For a long time I have been trying to locate Robert Schooling's grave (which I assume is in Cowgill, MO) and when he was buried there, and also hoping to find some kind of obituary or even family members, but so far to no avail. I hope to find where Robert E. SCHOOLING is actually buried. Any other additional information you might have would be more than welcome.

MASON, NELSON posted by Frank Scott on Thursday, January 20, 2005

Looking for anyone researching the MASON line or a MASON that would have knowledge of the family materials that are mentioned in the following documents? If so would you please put me in contact with them. I am in hopes that one of the things that they may have is a family Bible which would list children and dates. Louise P. DuBellet in Some Prominent Virginia Families states that Joel and Enoch were definitely sons of John and Mary NELSON MASON from information that she had gotten from members of the family. On this part she was probably correct although her insistence on connecting the various MASON lines was in error. She also states that James MASON, son of Lewis MASON removed from Virginia approximately 1870 to Richmond, Ray County, Missouri, taking all the family statistics and records with him. [1] [1] BuBellet, Louise P. Some Prominent Virginia Families. Vol I& II. Baltimore: Genealogical Publishing Co., 1976 ( first published 1907), pp 533-614. The above is from my mss on Mason in VA and SC. Do you know anyone connected to this family? After twenty years of working on this family. If those records are there, it will be the only definitive proof I will have of some of my conjectures. I appreciate any help you can give. Thank you. Frank Scott
