BURNS posted by Boss Einstein on Saturday, April 22, 2000

Initiating genealogy search into great-grandfather (BURNS) believed to be Richard BURNS or Dick BURNS, the famous Cantrell Raider, hung in 1867, either in May 1867 in KY or in Dec 1867 near farm at Richmond MO, -per history books at TCCL-Central on subject = JAMES, JESSE. ..... I am in hometown for Paul J. or Paul P. BURNS, born in StL- MO, either 1897 or 1898, whose father = Charles Maple BURNS, POB = unknown, DOB = unknown, -about 1863, and whose father was Richard or Dick BURNS, the Quantrill Raider assigned to steal horses for the Confederacy in MO. ...... We want to know if we in Tulsa (=3 great-grandsons)are related to the Richard BURNS associated with the Richmond, MO bank robbery on 5-22-1867, where Mayor & 2 jailers shot during robbery & getaway. ..... Accounts should be in Richmond CONSERVATOR sometime in 1867, but I have no access now. I am 73, living on disability pension in Downtown Tulsa, -without a permanent residence, and no travel $$$. ...... Due to blackout, for obvious reasons, family members have kept silent about the missing Dick (BURNS) "who died early". The conspiracy(uv silence)involves both sides uv out famblies. ..... Any input you have, -readily accessible on-line, would be appreciated, for blue-link hits. ..... I am lost in this MAZE!! ..... I have only books in Lie-berries, and by I-LL, on Jesse James Family History, and the fiction autobiography by James Randal Ross, dob = 7-6-1926, now Superior Court Judge in Orange County CA. .... Our kuzns in MO will NOT DISCUSS fambly history, -if so connected, -to Civil War History in MO. Ergo, iz there some one in Richmond MO or Ray County who iz not afraid to search out the possible links, and correct the record on appeal, in USCA- 10th-Denver, where personal I.D. required. :-) # Also, check out Tyler Burns, -mentioned as a relative to the James family, 1855-1885, and Edward F. BURNS, said to be merrid to Maria or Mercie L. BURNS, the James boys' kuzn. ..... The geneaology chart haz a question mark(?)after the merrid name = (Burns) for Maria L. James, in 1 place, and Mercie L. BURNS in another. .... There iz mentioned in 1 book, by local Historian at TU, = Bill Settle, a "Burns Farm" near Richmond MO. This should be retrievable in the County Land Records Bank for Ray County, -advertized on-line for me. ##
