William H. ADDISON, a long time resident of Carroll County, emigrated to Texas ca. 1876. Unsubstantiated family history claims he returned in about 1885, to Ray County. Looking for informaiton on William H. and his wife Abigail (Abby) Vickery Addison. Abby known to have died 1924 in Carroll County. William H. possibly died ca. 1890, Ray County.

Am looking for any information about my great,great grandfather, Richard Baldwin CATES. I found him in the 1880 census in knoxville Twsp.,Richmond, Ray Co. Missouri. My Grandmother, Nora Elender CATES was listed with his family in the same census as a grandaughter. Her mother was Cherokee Indian from Tennesee and her father Robert Cates of Swanwich, Mo. did not want to to make a home for them and her mother took Nora to live with her R. Baldwin Cates and she went to Kansas City to find work. Her mother's name was Marth Caroline Gibbs(Cates)and family tradition has her eventually marrying a Mr.Martin. Nora Elender Cates Married John Russell SWAFFORD of Richmond, Mo. If you know where Richard Baldwin Cates is buried or any info about Martha Caroline GIBBS/CATES/Martin I would very much like to know more about them.

John JOHNSON married Elizabeth Jane HOBLIT in Mirable, Ray Co., MO. A seoncd source indicates that the city/town was Marble. In either case I am unable to locate the city/town in Missouri by those names. Any assistance on locating the correct city/town would be appreciated

I'm trying to find out who my g. grandparents were. My grandfather was Paul Manley SMITH, who had a farm near Dockry, north of Richmond. He married Oriella BROWN around 1935 in Milwaukee. Both were born in Ray county and returned before 1940. They had two sons, James and Leon and one daughter, Jean. Any help would be appreciated. Paul had two brothers: one's name was Vance and the other lived in Kansas.

Found entries on 1850 Ray Co census for John and Michael SHANKS. Looking for connections to my ggg-grandfather, Jacob SHANKS. Jacob, as well as sons Nicholas and Michael, are on the 1850 Osage Co census. Jacob was born 1799-1800 in VA; married 1817 in Washington Co TN; settled in Missouri about 1836.

Their son, James COX marr Aug 1856 to Mary Ann LANIER, dau of Lewis LANIER. They moved to Collin Co, TX in 1870's. Their son, Cyrus Austin COX marr Semira Lavalet JENNINGS, b: 19 Jul 1864 in Ray Co, dau of William JENNINGS & Martha LANIER. William & Letti'a children were John, Silas, Levi, Mary, James, Rebecca, William R.,Lucinda, George W., Martha and Joseph B. Looking for any info on William COX & Lettia GRACE or their familes. Cyrus Austin COX was my ggrandfather.

Looking for info on the following: Perry Jacobs married Darthulia Clark 4-10-1884 John Garner Elliott married Mary Lavada Clark 3-17-1895 and Edward Cornthwaite b 1874 d 1959 married Honora Jane Clark b 1876 d 1906 married on 5-14-1899. They had a child named Charah. The Clarks were daughters of Rufus and Mary Ann Clark. Is anyone researching these names and if so any info will be greatly appreciated. I am looking for information on my Great grandmother, Sarah Francis MCCULLAH who married Thomas Jefferson Brown. She was born in Rayville 27 April 1856. Her mother's maiden name was Sandurs, first name we believe was Cynthia.
