DAVIS, MCLAUGHLIN posted by Don McGlothlen on Saturday, June 10, 2000

I recently ran across an enhanced 1830 census listing for Ray Co, MO, which listed not only the head of household but also the others in the household by name, age and birth state. (I have access to a copy of the 1830 U.S. Census for Ray Co, which of course does not list all the names, exact ages or state of birth for all members of the household.) Unfortunately, my computer locked before I could get the enhanced census file printed for the household I was interested in, that of Sarah MCLAUGHLIN. I remember about 4 persons, the last of which was a 15 year old male with surname DAVIS, born in TN. Can anyone please help me who may have used this enhanced Ray Co census and advise me of its internet web address? Thanks, Don McGlothlen

MILLER, WINNINGHAM, YATES posted by Donald Winningham on Monday, June 19, 2000

Researching John WINNINGHAM 1799-1861. Born Kentucky, married Mary(Polly)YATES in Boone County, 3 Jan 1822. Subsequently had 9 children, including my great grandfather John Jackson WINNINGHAM born Ray County 29 Aug 1837. Mary died 1848. From that date, there is no trace of John WINNINGHAM. Living in Ray County at the same time was William Sharp WINNINGHAM, and his wife Malinda MILLER. I strongly believe that William is related to John WINNINGHAM, probably a brother. William and his wife had 8 children, and at least one, Mary Jane WINNINGHAM was born in Ray County, 1 Jan 1840. William Sharp WINNINGHAM and his family moved to Harrison County shortly after 1840, settling in the Bethany area. If anyone has any information from marriage records, church records, land or probate records, birth information, or cemetery information on either John WINNINGHAM or William Sharp WINNINGHAM, I would be eager to hear from you.

BRADEN, CAMPBELL posted by Jere Braden on Wednesday, June 28, 2000

Attempting to located Hickory Grove Cemetery in Ray County, supposedly near Richmond. On 15 March 1887 Charley D. Braden, age 6 years was buried there. He was the sone of Andrew Jackson Braden and wife Feriba Jane CAMPBELL. Not long after the death of Charley the family moved to Utica, Mo. in Livingston Co. Apparently Andrew and Feriba came to the Richmond area from KY. because Andrew had a newphew living there named George Braden.
