BUNCH, KINKAID posted by Claire KinKaid on Saturday, December 30, 2000

Trying to find my husband's ancestry regarding the names of BUNCH and KINKAID. My husband's grandmother IDA MAY BUNCH was born to RILEY H. BUNCH & ISABELLA DAWSON BUNCH in Richmond, Ray County, Missouri on January 6, 1865. Is there anyone out there who might have information regarding her father, RILEY H. BUNCH? We know that IDA MAE BUNCH ended up in Dallas, Texas where she married my husband's grandfather, JAMES ALBERT KINKAID in 1890. According to the Dallas Directory from the late 1880's/early 1890's it was apparent that Ida May's parents (or father only), Riley H. Bunch lived at the same address as Ida May and James Albert. We would appreciate it so much if someone out there could give us any information regarding this Bunch family of Ray County. We are definitely up against a brick wall. Any information greatly appreciated. Thank you. Claire KinKaid clairek@ktc.com

KINCAID, KINKADE, KINKAID posted by Claire KinKaid on Saturday, December 30, 2000

After posting to this site earlier today, I found a site on Ancestry.com regarding marriages in Missouri from 1850 to 1900. The name KINCAID appears numerous times in Ray County. Our name is spelled KINKAID which appeared once as did KINKADE. Considering that our Ida May's mother, Isabella Dawson came from Ontario, Canada as did my husband's grandfather James Albert KinKaid and the fact that the Dawson's came to Ray County leads us to believe that there is a connection between all these Kincaid/Kinkaid/Kinkade names. Reviewing the marriage records we found a few entries which we believe tie our DAWSON & KINKAID/KINCAID/KINKADE together. Could we please hear from some of the Ray County Kincaid/Kinkaid/Kinkade families to ascertain if there might be a relationship here between any of you and my husband's family? Thanks.
