CASEY, CASKEY, COIL, DANNER, ENGLAND, GREENE, KENNEDY, POPEJOY posted by Kerry Fleming on Friday, August 1, 1997

Looking for ancestors/descendants of Sampson CASKEY b 1812 KY, married ca 1850 MO? to Mary Polly ENGLAND. Had all daughters. associated surnames are: KENNEDY, COIL, POPEJOY, and DANNER. DANNER is the line I am researching in Ray County. In the 1850 census for Ray County Sampson CASEY was the head of household with a family of GREENEs with him. Was this Rebecca GREENE a sister? He and Polly are buried in Orrick although only Polly's headstone survived. Is Sampson related to the Randolph Co CASKEYS also from KY? there was a Sampson in the 1850 census only who married an Elizabeth that year. Any clues appreciated. I live in Manchester MO

COLEMAN, COVEY posted by Diana Mings on Friday, August 1, 1997

Do you have any information on the Father of Clarence Woodrow COLEMAN born in Orrick,MO in about 1913. I only know he was called Shorty and was married to Bertha and I think her maiden name was COVEY. I am trying to find out more about him so I may trace his Native American ancestry. Any information on Bertha would be helpful too. The grandfather of Clarence was said to have come from a reservation somewhere in the Southwest. I know this is not much information to go on, but I would appreciate anything you might turn up. Thank-you, Diana Mings

REED posted by Mr. Lynn E. Reed on Thursday, August 7, 1997

I am looking for information on the parents of John REED, b. 1822, d. 1907. According to my information (History of Cooper Co., 1919), John's parents were "pioneers in Carroll Co. in the 1820s". Of course, it was Ray Co. then, but I assume it means the part of Ray Co. that became Carroll Co. At some point, John moved to Lafayette Co. and remained there all his life. He died in Lexington, MO, in 1907. I have not been able to find anything on those pioneering parents of John, including their names. One of John's sons was my great grandfather, Rev. Benjamin Franklin REED, b. 1849 (or 1853) and died 1937, resident of Cooper Co. Any information on the parents of John REED will be appreciated.
