DOTY, GREEN, SEWARD posted by Linda Doty Walker on Saturday, January 30, 1999

I am searching for information on the DOTY, SEWARD, and GREEN families who lived in and around Ray County in the 1870's. James DOTY married Harriet SEWARD in November 1871 by a minister of the M.E. Church South at the home of Harriet's father Joseph SEWARD in Ray County. They had a son and a daughter (names unknown) before his death in 1875-76. I would like to find the names of those children, and where James is buried. Am searching for the maiden name of Nancy Ann GREEN (born 1810-1812 in KY), who married Moses DOTY in 1846 in Jackson County. GREEN was not Nancy Ann's maiden name--it was the name of her previous husband. She married GREEN probably between 1825-1832, and they had children. In 1870, (after Moses death and her DOTY children were grown) Nancy (listed as Ann DOTY) lived with her son John GREEN (b. 1832 in MO) in Ray County. It appears his wife had died and she was helping him raise his children. I would like to find out the name of Nancy Ann's GREEN husband, so that I can find out her maiden name. I would also like to correspond with descendants of her GREEN children. (I am a descendant of one of her DOTY children.)
