QRYTEXT: My Great Great Grandfather on my maternal side was Peyton W. PEYTON. I found their marriage in Ray County,13 Dec.1860. My great great grandmother name was Ann RIFFIE on the marriage. I always was told the she was a lot younger than her husband. I looked at the 1850 US Census for Ray County, I did not find anyone named Ann. She may have been the daughter of Jacob RIFFE because they named one of their girs Susan and another Ruth; names in her family. Her mother had a set of twins. Her granddaughter Susan had two set of twins. There is a girl named Sarah and another named Augusta. I would like to find out which one of these girls was my great great grandmother. I would appreciate your help. Thank you. Pat

QRYTEXT: My husband's family lived in Ray County, in Richmond, Hardin and Crooked River. Thomas McGinnis was the sheriff for two terms. His son, James, was a deputy and later the youngest to serve as sheriff of that county at the age of 23. The Seward's owned and operated a Grain market. They were a large family that came from Indiana. James Erasmus Wood married Sarah Frances McGinnis, daughter of Thomas McGinnis and Rebecca Boggess. Rebecca was the daughter of Vincent Boggess and Frances Rebecca Walker. James E. Wood was a cattle breeder and raised pigs in the town on Crooked River. He was highly respected. My query is : Does anyone have further information that may be helpful? I've done extensive research on this family for several years, and have acquired a lot of information. I was told that there is a museum in Richmond(?) that has a lot of memorabilia on the McGinnis Family, but when I try to find it on line, nothing. Can someone help me in this area? I appreciate any in put. URL:
